Meri Dimas is GEM's Global Educator Award recipient 2017-2018. Ms. Dimas is a teacher at Gateway to the Sciences High School in Jamaica Queens, New York. GEM has a New Videoconference Program on Syria:
A Human Without Country, The Story of One Syrian Refugee
The program is a first-person account of one Syrian refugee. Youssef Abbara will speak about life before the war, fleeing Syria, living under wartime, and the challenges of building a new life in different countries as a displaced person.
