Students will conference at the United Nations with other students from North America regarding issues surrounding human security. They will have a chance to meet one another and to draft a Declaration / Plan of Action on “Issues of Human Security”.
Number of Participants: Maximum 400 Students
Purpose:
- Become familiar with issues of human security;
- Meet other like-minded students from North America;
- Hear speakers who have working in the field on issues of security;
- Become proactive with respect to finding long-term solutions to problems;
- Draft the Student Declaration on Human Security;
- Learn about the role of the United Nations and the part it plays in world issues.
This conference is open to students between grades 8 – 12. Student groups must be accompanied by a teacher/ chaperone.
Cost: $15 per student
