1987

Beginning of a continuing, formal, relationship with the UN Department of Global Communications (formally the Department of Public Information (DPI) 



1988

Formal recognition as a Messenger for World Peace at the United Nations Peace Bell by UN Secretary-General Javier Perez Cuellar



1989

The Beyond War Foundation Award to help build a world beyond war


 

1989

Selection of GEM by the United Nations to develop UNISER - United Nations Information Services, the first on-line database of the United Nations


 

1998

GEM selected by the United Nations Department of Public Information, to help create, and support, an annual United Nations Student Conference on Human Rights


 

2003

Co-Created with BigPictureSmallWorld of annual eight day Design Science Global Solutions Lab in association with the United Nations



2010

Development of annual Student Leadership Conference on Development at the United Nations. This annual conference focused on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and now the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)  



2014

Received consulting status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC)  



2015

UN 70th Anniversary Event: World Teachers' Congress: Exploring Human Rights and CultureColegio Carol Baur & GEM, Mexico City MX



2016

Creation of annual real world Camp Happiness, Summer Camp programs on UN/SDGs



2020

SCoPA: COP26. The beginning of annual climate change conferences giving youth ages 14-19 a voice in mitigating climate change.
