GLOBAL EDUCATION MOTIVATORS

Global Education Motivators is a non- profit educational corporation that was founded by educators in 1981 to help people throughout the world develop a better understanding of the global realities that face them everyday.

As a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in close association with the United Nations Department of Public Information, GEM programs have always reflected global perspectives.

Throughout their history GEM has:

1. worked closely with the United Nations
2. developed international video tape exchanges (Video Pals), linking US students with students around the world
3. organized GEMQUEST and led cultural study/travel programs in various countries
4. developed UN/NGO Resource Center at Chestnut Hill College
5. developed international education video conferencing programs including school to school communication exchanges
6. provided global education workshops for schools and the community.

Messenger for Manifesto 2000

Chestnut Hill College, Global Education Motivators ( GEM) and the United Nations welcome you to The 4th Annual High School United Nations Day Program. This year's program continues the focus on human rights with a specific emphasis on The International Year for a Culture of Peace.

GEM is a one of several sponsoring organizations of the student Human Rights Day at the United Nations each December and with your school�s registration for UN Day 2000, two students and one teacher from your school will receive a free trip to the United Nations for Human Rights Day on Friday December 8th.

Objectives:
1. to encourage responsibility and actions for human rights
2. to promote an awareness of the International Year for a Culture of Peace
3. to familiarize participants with the programs and resources of the United Nations
