Conference Description: Adelphi University and the United Nations will host the Fifth Annual Conference on “Teaching for Peace and Human Rights” on April 26, 2009 at Adelphi University, Garden City NY and April 27, 2010 at the United Nations Headquarters, New York, NY. The conference will bring together teachers, public education administrators, U.N. staff, and the non-governmental organization (NGO) community for a global dialogue about integrating peace and human rights education into the classroom
The purpose of the event is to provide a forum for teachers from around the world to collaborate on and bring international education issues to the forefront. Workshops will focus on helping teachers engage their students in global education issues while demonstrating how peace education can enhance curriculums.
Maximum 75 teachers on-site at Adelphi University and United Nations
Profesional Development: 15 Professional Development hours are being offered through Adelphi University
