Climate Change and the Sustainable Development Goals

Levels of Participation:

International Student Leaders at the United Nations -
Student leaders convene in New York on February 16 for leadership training. Leaders finalize the draft of a Plan of Action from the online contributions, complete the program agenda, and determine final leadership responsibilities for the conference on February 19, 2018.

Delegates at the videoconferencing sites -

Regional leaders participate in a 5 hour videoconference on February 19, 2018. This international videoconference will take place at the United Nations and at regional sites around the world.  SLCD@UN will link students from various countries to the UN for this student led discussion and completion of a student plan of action on sustainable development.

Students can attend the conference as a delegate in New York. They will be at the United Nations, can contribute to the discussions, and vote on the Final Plan of Action. See costs below.

    • United Nations Headquarters, New York
    • Mexico City, Mexico
    • Chennai, India
    • Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Costs for Participation -
International Student Leaders in New York: $175 (includes lunch on Friday and Monday)
Regional Leaders at VC sites: TBD by Site
Delegates at UNHQ/NYC $50.00 (includes lunch)
