Study Travel Trips

GEM Study Travel Trips - GEMQUEST

GEM conducted many study travel trips throughout the 1980's and 1990's.

GEMQUEST is the educational study/travel arm of GEM. GEMQUEST'S past history included unique international homestay and cross cultural travel experiences in Australia, Canada, China, Costa Rica Hawaii, India, Japan and South East Asia. Offered primarily for teachers, they were available for graduate credit through GEM at Chestnut Hill College. Central to GEMQUEST trips were the programs related to understanding the United Nations and important global and cultural issues.

GEMQUEST worked with Culture Quest, a Philadelphia based educational tour company that develops customized travel programs for students and educators including educational tours, homestays, language immersion and volunteer service programs in Europe or the Americas. Culture Quest is still running trips out of their office in Philadelphia if you are interested in creating your own study travel trip.

In May 2013, a group of teachers who attended the first GEMQUEST study travel trip 1983 had a 30 year reunion. To read about this meeting, click here.
